Title: Lotus Flower
Materials: Pens
Year: 2015
Class: Drawing
When I first stated brainstorming for this piece, I wasn't sure what I wanted to do. I started thinking about what kind of tattoos I would want when I got older. That's when it came to me, a lotus flower. A lotus represents a new beginning, or getting through rough times and being happy again. A lotus flower has always been something I would want to get a tattoo of. So, when I was brainstorming for this piece, I happened to be going through a hard time and thought that a lotus would be a great idea for this piece. I thought it turned out pretty well.

Title: Angela
Materials: Pencil, Charcoal
Year: 2015
Class: Drawing
For this piece, it was supposed to show positive and negative spaces. I decided to do my mother not only because the picture had negative and positive spaces, but also because life in general can have negative and postitive moments and it can be nice knowing you have a parent to fall back on. I was really concentrated and excited to do this piece. I felt my inner artist coming out while I was drawing this. It took a lot of effort and focussing to really get the negative spaces in the correct spots. I felt as if a black boarder would really make the drawing POP out.

Title: Perspective
Materials: Colored Pencil
Year: 2015
Class:Drawing
The purpose of this piece was to show the difference in perspective. Some people see nature as a beautiful things. some people see nature as just another thing to ruin and destroy. As I was going through the process of doing this piece, I realized that it could be kind of difficult to get my point about perspective across. I originally had the idea of doing light to dark, then I got the idea of simply splitting the paper in half and having one side colored and one side not. I feel like this piece actually turned out pretty well. As you can see, nature can be a beautiful thing, or it can be dark and dull. Its all about perspective.

Title: Into the Light
Materials: Charcoal
Year: 2015
Class: Drawing
When I started this piece I was thinking that a lot of people could possibly relate to the idea. The idea for this piece was that there are people who may be in the dark. They could be in the dark for various reasons, whether it be they are scared or the are being forced to shutdown and hide in the dark. The point I was trying to get across is that you shouldn't be afraid. You shouldn't be afraid to be seen or be you. You shouldn't be afraid to come out of the dark.
